Irwin Mitchell’s International Personal Injury team is acting for a guest who became ill after staying at the Iberostar Laguna Azul, in Cuba, with his girlfriend this year.
The holidaymaker suffered gastric symptoms including diarrhoea and sickness within days of his arrival at the hotel. Our client reported that some of the food was lukewarm and described that flies were often seen on and around the food. Birds were also seen pecking at the food.
Other guests have expressed that some of the food, such as chicken and pasta, was undercooked and a dead cockroach was left on their bedroom floor for days. It has also been suggested that a number of other holidaymakers have fallen ill with similar symptoms.
