Illness at Iberostar Tainos Hotel, Cuba

Irwin Mitchell is concerned to read of a report of illness at the Iberostar Tainos hotel in Cuba in August 2012.

It is reported that a number of holidaymakers fell ill with symptoms of diarrhoea and stomach pains whilst staying at the hotel. One holidaymaker confirms that the cooked food at the hotel’s restaurant was often served cold with chicken reportedly served raw on occasions. It is further reported that kitchen staff occasionally handled food with their bare hands and often did not use separate utensils when required. It is also reported that new food was added to existing food and some portions, such as cold meats were re-served more than once. Additional complaints include the shower and hairdryer not working properly and some the furniture in the hotel room being described as “tatty” and damaged.

Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you if you have suffered from gastric illness or sustained an injury whilst staying at this hotel.
