Melia Buenavista Hotel, Cuba

Irwin Mitchell is concerned to learn of reports of illness at the Melia Buenavista Hotel, in Cuba during holidays taken in June 2012.

Although the source of the outbreak has not yet been identified, we are concerned about the possibility the illness may have been due to a breakdown in food handling and food hygiene procedures.

Holidaymakers reported being left concerned by the curdled milk left unrefrigerated in the restaurant and the re-appearance of the same cuts of meat that were used at previous meal sittings.

One concerned holidaymaker reported the food of "so poor quality" that he would rather not eat and go hungry. Holidaymakers also reported that ants and cockroaches were present in their rooms.

Holidaymakers report complaints to include the standard of food provided at the hotel deteriorated day by day and felt that this was disappointing and let the hotel down.

If you also travelled to this resort and have subsequently suffered from symptoms of gastric illness or sustained an injury, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.
