Irwin Mitchell’s International Personal Injury team is concerned to learn that guests have become ill with gastric symptoms following stays at the Melia Cayo Coco in Cuba this year.
Despite some positive reviews, holidaymakers have reported that the food was “bland and boring” and that on one occasion, the meat was served “raw”. Guests have also stated that flies were seen landing on the food and birds were seen entering the restaurant and pecking dishes.
Others tourists has expressed that the food was bland and raised concerns relating to the hygiene standards at the resort. A holidaymaker said that they fell ill with a sickness bug just days into their stay and by the end of their holiday they had “lost 15 pounds” due to their illness.
