Melia Cayo Santa Maria, March-July 2017

The International Personal Injury Team at Irwin Mitchell are concerned by recent reports of guests falling ill with gastric symptoms during holidays at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria in Cuba between March and July 2017.

Despite positive reviews of the hotel online, Irwin Mitchell have seen reports by holidaymakers who fell ill during a stay at the hotel. One holidaymaker claims that “flies were seen landing on the food” while another claims that the some of the meat and fish was “not packed in any ice and left out for hours”. Other holidaymakers report falling ill with gastric symptoms.

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness we know the long term effects that it can potentially cause, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

If you have also travelled to the Melia Cayo Santa Maria in Cuba and have subsequently fallen ill, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.
