Melia Cayo, Santa Maria, July 2013

Solicitors at Irwin Mitchell are alarmed after receiving reports of illness from holidaymakers staying at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria Resort in Cuba.

It has been reported that holidaymakers suffered gastric symptoms including stomach pains, diarrhoea and sickness whilst they were on holiday. Further reports suggest that some holidaymakers have continued to suffer symptoms after their return home from Cuba.

Despite some positive reviews, other reports suggest that the food was often served cold and undercooked at the hotel. Holidaymakers also witnessed some cockroaches in the bread rolls and around the buffet area. Visitors also complained that there were bird faeces on some the tables and chairs in the snack bar.

If you also stayed at this hotel and suffered gastric illness, Irwin Mitchell would like to hear from you as you may be able to claim compensation for your ruined holiday, and also, the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you have suffered.
