Melia Jardines Del Ray Hotel
We’re concerned to hear about tourists falling ill while on holiday at the Melia Jardines Del Ray Hotel in Cuba during February 2016.
While some reviews on consumer websites have described the appearance and location of the hotel as beautiful, others complain of gastric symptoms developed while staying there. One account describes how sixty-five members of a wedding party fell ill during their stay at the resort. Many holidaymakers state that they became unwell during their time there, and some were forced to seek medical attention from a local hospital.
One guest complained that old food was not replenished quickly enough with, while some holidaymakers also note that there smell of sewage around the hotel complex on a few occasions.
Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. We have significant experience helping those unlucky enough to contract gastric illness while on holiday. We’re very aware of the complications that can develop because of such illness, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The effects can sometimes develop into a problem that is long-term, or even permanent.
If you also travelled to the Melia Jardines Del Ray Hotel in Cuba and have subsequently been ill, we’d like to hear from you. We specialise in dealing with cases like this and can advise you on claiming compensation for your trip.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
