Melia Jardines Del Ray Hotel

Irwin Mitchell have been contacted by a party of British holidaymakers who travelled to the Melia Jardines Del Rey, Cuba on an all inclusive basis in December 2016 – January 2017.

A group of 9 holidaymakers experienced gastric symptoms including diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach cramps and severe abdominal pains.

The holidaymakers noticed that some of the food such as the chicken and hamburgers were undercooked on occasions. They have also advised that sewage was overflowing from the drains and toilets.

Despite some positive reviews there are many negative comments from other holidaymakers about the hotel on Trip Advisor. In particular complaints regarding drainage systems and poor quality food.

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in the stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness we know first-hand the potential long term effects that can be associated with such illness, with sometimes permanent long term complications arising such as Post infective Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

If you have travelled to the Melia Jardines Del Rey Hotel in Cuba and subsequently suffered from symptoms of gastric illness or sustained an injury, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.
