Melia Peninsula Varadero
The International Personal Injury Team at Irwin Mitchell are concerned to learn of recent reports of guests falling ill with gastric symptoms during holidays taken at the Melia Peninsula Varadero in Cuba in September 2015.
Despite positive reviews, Irwin Mitchell has read reports regarding holidaymakers who fell ill during a stay at the hotel. The guests said that they saw flies landing on some of the food and that the food appeared to have been “left out uncovered for some time.” Other holidaymakers fell ill with diarrhoea and stomach cramps and a number also report suffering from bedbug bites.
Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness, Irwin Mitchell know first-hand the potential long term complications like post-infective irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
If you also travelled to the Melia Peninsula Varadero in Cuba and have subsequently suffered from symptoms of illness, we'd like to hear from you.
