Playa Pesquero, Holguin 2014

Irwin Mitchell is concerned for holidaymakers who have recently returned from the Playa Pesquero Hotel in Holguin, Cuba suffering from gastric symptoms.

A number of holidaymakers have reported that there has been an outbreak of illness in the resort and according to reports, many holidaymakers have suffered from illness. It has also been suggested that a number of holidaymakers have been admitted to hospital due to illness. Whilst there have been some positive reviews, these accounts raise concern.

Irwin Mitchell is currently acting for clients who holidayed at this hotel during 2012 and 2013. One of these holidaymakers in particular suffered from salmonella food poisoning and complained of meat being served which looked raw. Complaints from these years included new food being added to existing food, food appearing to be re-heated and food being re-served on more than one occasion. There were also been complaints about insects landing on some of the food, and birds and cats being seen around the restaurant area.

Irwin Mitchell has previously acted for other clients who stayed at this hotel in 2008 and 2009, and have been successful in obtaining considerable compensation for these clients.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
