Valentin Perla Blanca, 2018

Our International Personal Injury team is aware of reports on consumer review sites that reveal some guests at the Valentin Perla Blanca hotel in Cuba feel ill with severe gastric illness during their stays there between January and February 2018.

Despite some positive reviews, a number of holidaymakers complained of suffering from various gastric symptoms, including stomach cramps, diarrhoea and vomiting. One holidaymaker reported that 4 out of 7 days of her holiday were ruined as a result of the illness - her symptoms were so bad she was admitted to hospital in the end, and had to be given fluids via an IV drip.

Another guest complained about the food and reported that the food was sometimes cold or lukewarm. They noted that the buffet was undercooked on one occasion. Another holidaymaker described the food as ‘awful."

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness, Irwin Mitchell know the potential effects that can be associated with such illness, including long term complications arising, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

If you have travelled to the Valentin Perla Blanca hotel in Cuba and subsequently suffered from symptoms of illness or sustained an injury, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
