Breezes Resort Spa and Casino
Irwin Mitchell is extremely concerned for holidaymakers after receiving reports of gastric illness amongst those holidaying at the Breezes Resort Spa and Casino, Curacao, in the Caribbean during August 2011.
Reports have indicated that guests were aware of food being re-used and re-heated on different occasions. One guest recalls how the beef steak was shredded the following evening, and then used again at breakfast. It is reported that there were approximately 30 people who had contracted symptoms of illness, possibly as a result of the suggested breakdown in food handling and hygiene procedures.
It is reported that symptoms consisted of diarrhoea and vomiting, and that many sought medical attention whilst in resort.
