Sunscape Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino
Irwin Mitchell’s International Personal Injury team are concerned to learn of recent reports of illness at the Sunscape Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino in Curacao this year.
Despite some positive reviews, our team have heard reports regarding poor hygiene standards at the hotel which could have resulted in the gastric illness suffered by guests. Holidaymakers have reported that they contracted food poisoning, and their children were diagnosed with salmonella on their return to the UK.
Another guest, along with her husband, were violently ill two days after arriving at the resort. They noted, as well as other visitors, that the swimming pool on occasion appeared to be dirty and a cockroach was observed on the bread in the restaurant. Another holidaymaker reported that their room was not up to standard and foods such as meats and cheese were not chilled causing them to sweat.
A guest has said that they sighted a rat the size of a small dog whilst they were having dinner at the hotel. Furthermore, another report warned others to be careful when eating at the restaurant. This individual states that they are still having stomach problems and said that they saw a giant tub of raw chicken left out on the side of the buffet.
If you have also travelled to the Sunscape Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino and have subsequently suffered symptoms of illness, we would like to hear from you.
