Pafian Sun Village, Paphos, Cyprus
The International Travel Litigation team Irwin Mitchell, which specialises in cases of claims for holidaymakers who have suffered injury and illness abroad has been contacted by a British family after their summer holiday to Cyprus was spoilt when the family were bitten by bed bugs after staying at the Pafian Sun Village hotel.
The family is just one of a number of holidaymakers who have complained about the hotel on holiday review website Trip Advisor. Other holidaymakers have also complained about ants in their hotel rooms and flies in the hotel restaurant and “slapdash cleaners” who did not change the sheets on the beds.
The holiday had been booked so that the family could attend a wedding in Cyprus and after a few days in resort a Mum and her young son woke up to find that they had been bitten causing a red rash which had to be treated at the local medical centre. The bites spoilt the holiday and meant that a young British holidaymaker could not be a page boy at his Uncle’s wedding.
Irwin Mitchell have also acted for other holidaymakers who have suffered similar problems whilst on holiday in the past and it is possible that the problems experienced were due to a breakdown in hygiene procedures, as well as a failure to prevent the accommodation becoming infected with bed bugs.
If you have been injured or suffered illness whilst on holiday, you may be able to pursue a claim for your ruined holiday and also the pain and suffering caused by the illness that you sustained.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
