Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe, 2015

The International Personal Injury team at Irwin Mitchell is concerned to learn that guests fell ill with gastric symptoms during holidays taken at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe, in the Dominican Republic, between August and September 2015.

Despite positive reviews, holidaymakers have reported that some of the food was repetitive and described that flies were sometimes seen in the buffet area. A fellow guest claimed that they were served a raw pancake.

Visitors staying at the resort have reported falling ill with diarrhoea and stomach cramps, including 29 out of a party of 31 wedding guests. One of the group had to be hospitalised with salmonella poisoning.

Salmonella infections usually result from a combination of contaminated foods, poor hygiene and inadequate or poor preparation and cooking of food. This type of food poisoning can often be serious and in some instances even fatal.

If you also travelled to the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe in the Dominican Republic, and subsequently suffered from symptoms of illness, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.
