Be Live Collection Punta Cana, 2016

We’ve heard reports of holidaymakers falling ill during holidays taken at the Be Live Collection Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic during February 2016.

Despite some positive reviews on various consumer websites, we know that a number of holidaymakers have also criticised the hotel after they suffered a range of gastric symptoms, including diarrhoea, abdominal pain and vomiting.

One guest was hospitalised as a result of their gastric illness – they were also concerned to see other guests from the hotel being taken by ambulance to the same hospital.

Another holidaymaker witnessed the chef using the same utensils as he handled both raw chicken and cooked vegetables. On one occasion, a rodent carcass was seen underneath a chair in one of the restaurants.

Gastric symptoms can vary, from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. We have significant experience helping those unlucky enough to contract gastric illness while on holiday. We’re very aware of the complications that can develop because of such illness, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The effects can sometimes develop into a problem that is long-term, or even permanent.

If you also travelled to the Be Live Collection Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and have subsequently been ill, we’d like to hear from you. We specialise in dealing with cases like this and can advise you on claiming compensation for your trip.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
