Blue Bay Villas Doradas, Dominican Republic

The expert International Travel Litigation team at Irwin Mitchell are concerned to receive reports of  illness at the Blue Bay Villas Doradas in the Dominican Republic.

Recent reports suggest that holidaymakers have contracted gastric illnesses at the hotel with symptoms including diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach cramps with one holidaymaker reportedly being hospitalised before being treated with antibiotics.

It is possible that the illnesses experienced by holidaymakers was due to a breakdown in food handling and food hygiene procedures with holidaymakers complaining of poor hygiene standards in the resort including reports of birds eating from fruit bowls in the restaurant and excreting onto the hot food plates. It has also been suggested that the food served at the hotel was often undercooked, particularly from the grill, and that it appeared to be reheated and re-presented to guests over lunch and dinner sittings.

Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you if you have suffered from gastric illness or sustained an injury whilst staying at the Blue Bay Villas Doradas hotel.
