Excellence Hotel, Punta Cana
We’re concerned to hear reports from tourists who suffered illness during their stays at the Excellence Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic in January and February 2016.
While some reviews on consumer websites describe the hotel as beautiful, clean and well-maintained, others holidaymakers have complained of food poisoning.
Several guests report that on some occasions the food appeared to be inedible and sub-standard. Other holidaymakers complain that steak was served raw and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be properly cooked. Another guest also detailed the rude service they received from the hotel manager and manageress.
Food that is not prepared or stored properly exposes those that eat it to the risk of gastric illness.
Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. We have significant experience helping those unlucky enough to contract gastric illness while on holiday.
