Gran Ventana Beach
We have been instructed by holidaymakers who travelled to the Gran Ventana Beach resort in the Dominican Republic in June 2009. This is not the first time holiday makers have instructed Irwin Mitchell following a holiday at the Gran Ventana Beach resort. Previous instructions relate to guests that travelled in 2008.
Guests report symptoms of gastric illness including diarrhoea and stomach cramps. It is believed that the symptoms may have been caused by poor standards of health and hygiene at the hotel and that other quality issues are also alleged in relation to the food and general standards of maintenance at the resort.
Guests have confirmed that the food served was undercooked, food was left uncovered for long periods of time and the cold dishes were not refrigerated.
