Grand Palladium Bavaro Hotel, 2015

Specialist international personal injury lawyers at Irwin Mitchell have been instructed by a family following their two week stay at the Grand Palladium Bavaro Hotel in May 2015.

The holidaymakers travelled to the hotel in the Dominican Republic for their first family holiday with their ten month old daughter. However, illness soon struck two of them as they began to suffer symptoms including diarrhoea and abdominal pain, just a few days into the holiday. Both holidaymakers received medical treatment from the onsite doctor and they prescribed antibiotics.

The guests noticed that some of the food was occasionally undercooked, in particular reporting that the chicken was sometimes pink inside and sometimes food was left uncovered for long periods of time. They also witnessed the surfaces in their room being cleaned with the same cloth that was used to clean the toilet.

Jatinder Paul, a solicitor at Irwin Mitchell, said: “This was meant to be a special holiday for our clients as it was their first family holiday with their ten month old daughter. However, it was ruined due to gastric illness and their holiday will now be remembered for all of the wrong reasons. We will be conducting our own investigations in to our clients' illness and suggest that the hotel management take similar steps.”

If you have travelled to the Grand Palladium Bavaro Hotel in the Dominican Republic and subsequently suffered from symptoms of illness, or sustained an injury, we would like to hear from you.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
