Irwin Mitchell is concerned for holidaymakers staying at the Iberostar Hacienda hotel in the Dominican Republic after receiving reports of tourists being rushed to hospital after contracting food poisoning while staying at the resort in March 2012.

The holidaymakers were taken to hospital on returning home from their holiday after suffering from gastric symptoms including sickness, diarrhoea and nausea with one holidaymaker describing her illness as the “worst food poisoning” she had ever had.

The gastric symptoms which holidaymakers have suffered may be a result of poor food hygiene and general health and safety procedures practised at the resort which has resulted in guests falling ill. Irwin Mitchell has acted for thousands of holidaymakers in claims related to food poisoning including people who contracted illnesses such as Salmonella, Campylobacter and E-Coli.
