Illness At The Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda

Irwin Mitchell is concerned to learn of recent reports of illness at the Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda.

Despite positive reviews, a holidaymaker who stayed at the hotel this year described how her husband fell ill and ”had to be admitted to hospital” and was diagnosed with “typhoid fever”. The guest believes that this was caused by consuming “contaminated food or drink”, possibly from an employee who “didn’t wash their hands”. Another holidaymaker who became “terribly sick” states that “something has to be done with the food and handling of the food and cleanliness”. The guest also says that there were “no hand washing rules” and that “they didn’t even have any soap, let alone a soap dispenser in the ladies washroom”.

Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection which can spread throughout the body and in some cases can be fatal It's related to the same bacteria responsible for salmonella food poisoning and can be contracted in a similar way, normally as a result of faecal oral contamination, quite often associated with poor hygiene.

If you also travelled to this hotel and have subsequently suffered from symptoms of gastric illness, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.
