We're concerned to hear about guests falling ill with gastric symptoms while on holiday at the Now Larimar Punta Cana hotel in the Dominican Republic. The most recent reports we've received relate to holidays taken in July and August 2016.

Despite positive reviews of the hotel online, our International Personal Injury team is also aware that some holidaymakers have fallen ill following their stay at the hotel. Holidaymakers have reported that they suffered with gastric symptoms including abdominal pain, diarrhoea and vomiting.

Some holidaymakers have reported that the food was ‘horrible’. One report suggests that the hotel ran out of water for around 9 hours, meaning guests were not able to flush the toilets or take showers for that time.

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness, we know first-hand the potential long term conditions that can be associated with it, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
