Occidental Caribe, 2017

The International Personal Injury Team at Irwin Mitchell is concerned by recent reports of guests falling ill with gastric symptoms during holidays taken at the Occidental Caribe in the Dominican Republic between April and May 2017.

Despite positive reviews, Irwin Mitchell has learnt of reports regarding holidaymakers who fell ill during a stay at the hotel. Holidaymakers report falling ill with gastric symptoms, with two individuals subsequently diagnosed with Salmonella.

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illnesses, Irwin Mitchell known first-hand the potential long term effects that can be associated with such an ailment, as well as permanent complications such as Post Infective Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

If you also travelled to the Occidental Caribe in the Dominican Republic and have subsequently suffered from symptoms of illness, Irwin Mitchell – who specialise in dealing with cases of this nature – would like to hear from you.
