"The team at Irwin Mitchell has a ‘pre-eminent reputation’ for travel personal injury work"

Ocean Blue & Sands Hotel, 2016

We're concerned to learn of recent reports of guests falling ill with gastric symptoms during holidays taken at Ocean Blue & Sand Resort in the Dominican Republic between January and May 2016.
Despite positive reviews, our International Personal Injury team has learnt that some holidaymakers fell ill during a stay at the hotel. One guest claims that some of the meat dishes were “undercooked”. Other holidaymakers claim to have fallen ill with gastric symptoms.

This is not the first time the hotel has come under fire for its hygiene standards. Earlier this year we were contacted by tourists who continued to suffer illness after staying there in December 2015.

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. We have significant experience helping those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness and know first-hand the long term effects that can potentially come from such illness, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

If you also travelled to the Ocean Blue & Sands Hotel in Dominican Republic, we'd like to hear from you. We specialise in helping those who've suffered illness or injury abroad and could help you make a claim for compensation.

For more advice on making a holiday illness claim, contact us on 0800 056 0066 or complete our enquiry form and we will call you back.
