We are concerned to learn of recent reports of guests falling ill with gastric symptoms during holidays taken at the Royalton Punta Cana Resort & Casino in the Dominican Republic in January and February 2016.
Despite positive reviews, we've learnt of reports regarding holidaymakers who fell ill during a stay at the hotel. Holidaymakers claim that some of the food was “lukewarm”. Another holidaymaker claims that there they were told by staff that the meals were cold because “when they are busy the food sits out waiting for 30 minutes”. Other holidaymakers have reported becoming ill with gastric symptoms.
Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract these types of illnesses, we’re aware of the potential effects they can have, with long-term and even permanent complications such as Post infective Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
