Concorde El Salam Sport Hotel Illness
Irwin Mitchell has been approached to act for holidaymakers who travelled to the Concord El Salam Hotel, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt in January 2011 and fell ill with unpleasant gastric illnesses. This is the fourth year running that Irwin Mitchell have received calls for help, and we currently represent a number of clients who travelled to the Concord El Salam and suffered from gastric illness in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Having learned of the experiences of holidaymakers at this resort, Irwin Mitchell has become increasingly concerned about the standard of health and hygiene at the hotel. Holidaymakers contracted symptoms such as diarrhoea, severe abdominal pain, nausea, high temperatures and malaise.
The holidaymakers have made complaints regarding the quality and standard of the hotel. A storm broke out a few days prior to the holidaymakers’ holiday and when they arrived the hotel staff did not appear phased by the damages caused to the hotel. Customers also complained of an overwhelming smell of sewage in parts of the hotel. Poor hygiene issues have been raised with regards to the restaurant with birds and flies landing on the food and meat appearing undercooked.
