Coral Sea Water World, Sharm El Sheikh
Irwin Mitchell's International Personal Injury team have been instructed by a family of holidaymakers following their week long stay at the Coral Sea Water World, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, in October and November 2013.
The family of three travelled to Egypt as a honeymoon, taking their daughter with them. Illness struck two members of the family towards the end of the holiday. They suffered with diarrhoea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
A few days after the family’s return to the UK, one of the members of the family started to feel unwell and completely lost her appetite. She started to suffer with severe abdominal pain and as a result was hospitalised for four days. The doctors at the hospital reportedly diagnosed the holidaymaker with salmonella as a result of her stay at the hotel.
Jatinder Paul, one of our International Personal Injury specialists, said: “This was supposed to be special holiday for the family as the couple had booked the holiday as their honeymoon. Instead, it was spoiled by gastric illness and unfortunately it will be remembered by the family for all the wrong reasons.”
