Our International Personal Injury team has been instructed by a couple who became ill during a stay at the The Grand Hotel in Egypt in June 2016. The trip was booked as to celebrate their engagement but turned a painful experience when they began to suffer with gastric symptoms.
One of them started to suffer these symptoms just a few days into their holiday. During their stay at the hotel, the couple noticed that some of the food served in the restaurant was undercooked. On one occasion, a beef burger appeared to be undercooked as it was pink on the inside. The holidaymakers also noticed birds pecking at the food in the restaurant. Some of the food was also left uncovered in the restaurant.
Jatinder Paul, an Associate Solicitor and specialist in International Personal Injury cases at Irwin Mitchell, said: "This was supposed to be a special holiday for these holidaymakers as they were celebrating their engagement, however it will now be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
