Hilton Sharks Bay Resort
Irwin Mitchell has read reports of holidaymakers who have suffered illness during their stay at the Hilton Sharks Bay Resort, Egypt, in August and September 2014.
A holidaymaker who travelled in August 2014 reports that "nearly every group of people had at least one member of their party sick at some stage of their stay" and further states that intravenous drips were required by some.
A further holidaymaker who travelled in September 2014 has reported that it was their fifth visit to Sharm El Sheikh and the first time they have suffered illness.
We also received reports from holidaymakers who stayed at the Hilton Sharks Bay Resort, Egypt, in May, June and July 2014 that they have returned from the hotel suffering from gastric illness. A group of four friends have joined another couple celebrating a 65th birthday in complaining of gastric illness whilst at the resort.
One by one, all four friends report becoming ill with diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach cramps.
The couple report suffering from symptoms of diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach cramps. One fell ill two days before her husband’s birthday which meant that they could not celebrate the birthday as they had hoped, as she was too ill.
They sought treatment from the onsite pharmacy due to the symptoms they were suffering from. Some of the holidaymakers are still experiencing illness.
Despite a number of positive reviews the holidaymakers have raised concerns about quality of some of the food, that food was served uncovered and that on occasion dirty utensils were used in the food. Some food was said to have been served at an incorrect temperature. Holidaymakers have also reported that there were a number of other guests who were also experiencing similar symptoms.
Irwin Mitchell previously helped holidaymakers pursue a claim following their holidays taken at the Hilton Sharks Bay Resort in 2009 and 2011. Irwin Mitchell secured a four-figure sum in settlement for three of the holidaymakers who travelled to the hotel in 2011.
