Irwin Mitchell’s specialist international personal injury lawyers have been contacted by holidaymakers who suffered gastrointestinal illness following their stay at the Holiday Village Red Sea Hotel, in Egypt, between June and July 2015.
The guests explained that they suffered from a number of symptoms, including diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pains and weight loss.
During their stay, the holidaymakers noticed that a lot of the food at the hotel restaurant appeared to be left uncovered for long periods of time. The couple also complained that the cutlery and crockery were dirty on some occasions. Furthermore, the guests added that insects were sometimes seen on and around food and the pool was observed to have been dirty with cloudy water. On one occasion, faeces was seen in the pool.
