Hotel Iberotel Dahabeya, Egypt
Irwin Mitchell has become increasingly concerned for holidaymakers who have travelled to the Iberotel Dahabeya Hotel in Egypt during summer 2010, and who have returned reporting symptoms of gastric illness including of diarrhoea and stomach cramps.
Reports suggest that holidaymakers have become ill with suspected food poisoning, possibly as a result of poor food hygiene standards and issues with the quality of food consumed at the hotel. A number of hygiene issues relating to the food served at the hotel have been reported, including food being contaminated by insects and food being left exposed to high temperatures. Various quality complaints have also been alleged in relation to the general hygiene and cleanliness of the hotel, suggesting that that there was no soap in the toilets and that there excrement left by the poolside.
It is alleged that over 90% of the guests at the hotel in June have been affected by the illness and subsequent symptoms.
