Illness at the St Georges Hotel Three Corners in Sharm El Sheikh

Irwin Mitchell has again been contacted by holiday makers returning from the St Georges Three Corners Resort, in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, after falling severely ill with food poisoning at the hotel.

Holiday makers have told us they fell ill with gastric symptoms including diarrhoea, sickness, vomiting, abdominal pain, fever and nausea. Since returning to the UK some are still suffering continuing symptoms. Many of the holidaymakers had to see the resort doctor with a teenage girl being hospitalised for two days in Egypt. One of the holiday makers, a 16-year-old girl had to return home early and is currently receiving treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Many complaints have been made by holidaymakers about the general standard of the hotel. Guests had serious concerns about the food being served in the hotel and one of the holidaymakers found a snail in their food.

Holidaymakers are also very concerned about the general hygiene of the hotel as they have reported a lack of cleanliness in certain areas of the hotel. Holidaymakers highlighted the bathrooms as a cause for further concern as they were not cleaned to a reasonable standard. 

Irwin Mitchell has previously represented three clients who suffered illness or loss of enjoyment at this resort in 2006.  We are concerned to learn that people are still continuing to fall ill at this hotel in 2011.
