Jaz Aquaviva Hotel, 2017

Irwin Mitchell have been contacted by over 20 British holidaymakers who travelled in separate groups to the Jaz Aquaviva Hotel in Egypt on an all inclusive basis in May-June 2017.

Many of the holidaymakers, including young children, experienced symptoms including diarrhoea, stomach cramps and sickness.

Despite some positive reviews for the hotel online, the holidaymakers expressed concerns about the food and hygiene standards during their stays. Some noticed that some of the food was served lukewarm and others report seeing the hotel chefs handling both raw and cooked meat without changing their gloves or utensils in between. One holidaymaker recalled seeing raw meat left exposed to the elements in the hot sun for some time.

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in the stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness we know first-hand the potential long term effects that can be associated with such illness, with sometimes permanent long term complications arising such as Post infective Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

If you have travelled to the Jaz Aquaviva Hotel, Egypt and subsequently suffered from symptoms of gastric illness or sustained an injury, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
