Panorama Heights Hotel
Travel law experts at Irwin Mitchell have been approached by holidaymakers who returned from their stay at the Panorama Heights Hotel in Egypt with gastric illness.
A couple travelled to the hotel for their honeymoon in June and July 2014 only to become unwell with symptoms of diarrhoea and stomach pains. One of the couple was hospitalised upon their return home and was later diagnosed as having salmonella. Such a serious infection can leave permanent symptoms including an alteration of bowel habit, stomach pains and irritable bowel syndrome.
Despite some positive reviews, the holidaymakers have told us that some of the food such as eggs were undercooked and that some of the chicken served at the barbeque was undercooked. Hot food was on occasions said to have been served at an incorrect temperature. Food was reported to have been left uncovered for prolonged periods of time. Holidaymakers have also told us that new food was sometimes added on top of existing food.
