Irwin Mitchell is concerned for holidaymakers who have travelled to the Regency Plaza Aqua Park and Spa Resort in Egypt after reading reports of gastric illness amongst holidaymakers.
Reports suggest holidaymakers were dissatisfied with the “poor quality” and “bland” food on offer at the hotel. Holidaymakers also describe how flies and other flying insects were seen to crawl over uncovered food at the hotel. Guests further report how the salads were not appropriately chilled and that hot food was often served warm. Reports suggest that many of those who stayed at the hotel suffered from illness. Symptoms of gastric illness usually include diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach cramps and lethargy and can often be contracted after consuming food which has become contaminated due to a break down in food hygiene procedures.
