Sea Beach Resort and Aqua Park
Irwin Mitchell has been instructed by holidaymakers who have suffered illness during an all inclusive holiday at the Sea Beach Resort and Aqua Park in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt in June 2014.
One couple suffered a very unpleasant gastric illness early on in their holiday. They had diarrhoea, painful stomach cramps, nausea and dizziness. The whole holiday was severely disrupted. The couple had to go to the hospital clinic where they received treatment via medication and a drip. Both are still unwell now they have returned home.
The holidaymakers believe that this may have been a result of the poor hygiene standards at the hotel. They report on occasion seeing raw chicken being served and the same utensils being used for raw and cooked omelettes. They also say that the staff uniforms were dirty and that they appeared to have little regard for hygiene.
Despite some positive reports, one person who stayed at the hotel described the food as “very repetitive and under cooked”, and another described that the chicken as being “white on the outside and raw in the middle”. Another holidaymaker stated that “one of their holiday party was rushed in with E. coli and is still not well.”
