Shedwan Garden Hotel, Hurghada

Guests staying at the Shedwan Garden hotel, Hurghada, Egypt, between 19 June 2009 and 26 June 2009, have returned home suffering with symptoms of gastric illness such as diarrhoea, stomach pains and vomiting  allegedly caused by poor food and hygiene standards.

Guests have confirmed that the food at the hotel was served lukewarm, food was repeated throughout the day, insects were seen in and around the food, and that the buffet restaurant was not attended to by hotel staff.

Other complaints made are that the air conditioning in the hotel room leaked, communal toilets were filthy and that a raw sewage smell could be smelt in public areas.

Irwin Mitchell urges anyone who has suffered with similar symptoms of gastric illness to those outlined above to contact them with details.
