Irwin Mitchell’s international personal injury solicitors are concerned to receive further reports of guests becoming ill while staying at the Shiva Sharm Resort and Spa, in Egypt, during October 2015.
Our specialist team of travel lawyers is already representing holidaymakers who travelled to the resort in February 2015 after a family was diagnosed with Salmonella upon their return to the UK.
Two British tourists who visited the hotel on an all-inclusive basis in October had to seek medical assistance when they returned home to the UK. The holidaymakers experienced symptoms including diarrhoea and stomach cramps. One of the guests had to visit their local A&E department and was consequently put on an IV drip due to their illness. This guest has yet to make a full recovery from their symptoms.
Despite some positive reviews on consumer review websites, holidaymakers have suggested that food at the resort was left uncovered for long periods of time. Dishes were reportedly not served at the correct temperature and birds and flies have been seen in and around the hotel’s restaurant.
