Sindbad Club Aqua Hotel, 2015
Specialist international personal injury lawyers at Irwin Mitchell have been instructed by a couple following their week-long stay at the Sindbad Club Aqua Hotel, Hurghada, in April 2015.
The couple travelled to the hotel to celebrate a 21st birthday; however illness quickly struck one of the holidaymakers who suffered with severe diarrhoea, nausea, cramps and sweating. Unfortunately his symptoms deteriorated and he was admitted to a local hospital. He was placed on an IV drip and was given antibiotics to help keep him hydrated. He was prescribed medication for the remainder of the holiday but unfortunately continued to suffer with stomach cramps on his return to the UK.
The holidaymakers have reported that some of the food in the restaurant was undercooked. Alarmingly, the chicken was sometimes pink inside and occasionally the food was left uncovered for long periods. On occasions, cats and birds were seen in the restaurant area.
Jatinder Paul, a solicitor at Irwin Mitchell, said: “This was due to be a special holiday for our clients, however it’s resulted in a hospital admission and a serious illness. We will now be conducting our own investigations as the cause of our client’s illness and we would encourage the hotel management to take similar steps.”
If you have also travelled to the Sindbad Club Aqua Hotel in Egypt, and subsequently suffered from symptoms of illness, we would like to hear from you.
