Sol y Mar Sea Star, Taba
Irwin Mitchell has been approached to act for holidaymakers who travelled to the Sol y Mar Sea Star Hotel, Taba, Egypt in February 2011 after falling ill with severe gastric illness.
It appears the hotel has failed to improve its standards of health and hygiene as Irwin Mitchell has previously acted for clients who travelled there in 2008 and 2010. Holidaymakers travelling there experienced symptoms of diarrhoea, stomach cramps and vomiting. Reports suggest that food was served uncovered and undercooked. A holidaymaker returning in February this year received hospital treatment due to the severity of her symptoms.
Other holiday makers have commented on popular review site Trip Advisor that this was a 'dirty hotel' and another commented that they experienced 'severe food poisoning'.
