Irwin Mitchell have received instructions off holidaymakers staying at the Sunrise Makadi Bay in Hurghada, Egypt who have been diagnosed with salmonella upon their return to the UK.
We have previously acted for clients who holidayed at the Sunrise Makadi Bay in previous years, who also fell ill with similar symptoms, allegedly as a result of the poor standards of food hygiene at the hotel.
It is alarming to learn that such problems continue at the hotel, with recent reports suggesting that holidaymakers have contracted serious bacterial infections such as Salmonella as a result of a breakdown in food hygiene procedures. Such infections can leave permanent symptoms including an alteration of bowel habit, stomach pains and irritable bowel syndrome.
A holidaymaker has reported that food such as chicken was served undercooked and that “no hygiene procedures were observed in the hotel.”
