Illness At Tia Heights, Egypt
The International Personal Injury Team at Irwin Mitchell has been contacted by a British couple who became ill after travelling to the Tia Heights Hotel in Makadi Bay, Egypt on an all-inclusive basis in June 2014.
The doctor who provided treatment on return to the UK treated one holidaymaker for a suspected E.coli infection and the holidaymaker was advised that the bacteria had travelled to their lungs causing them to suffer from pneumonia which required treatment with antibiotics and steroids.
The holidaymakers report lukewarm rice being served in the hotel restaurant on at least once occasion, some of the food served being left uncovered and on occasion new food being tipped onto existing food.
Another holidaymaker reported finding a mouse in their hotel room fridge and another holidaymaker who travelled in October 2014 described the hotel as a “dirty place” with rotten fruit in the hotel room. Furthermore, one holidaymaker said that some of the chicken being served was undercooked and that bags of rotting food were seen in public areas around the hotel.
If you also travelled to this hotel and have subsequently suffered from symptoms of gastric illness, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.
