Irwin Mitchell’s international personal injury experts have been contacted by a British couple who have recently travelled to the Tiran Island Hotel, in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, during September 2015.
The holidaymakers reported that they fell ill during their all-inclusive stay at the hotel which had been booked to celebrate their engagement. The couple suffered from symptoms including diarrhoea and vomiting which resulted in them having to seek advice from a local pharmacy. Unfortunately their symptoms continued on their return home.
Despite the hotel having some positive reviews, the couple have expressed that they were served some food which they felt was undercooked. They also described that some of the hot and cold foods were not served at the right temperature. Furthermore, the guests claim that some of the food appeared to have been reheated and re-served. Other holidaymakers have described the food as repetitive and have referred to suffering from “upset stomachs”
Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in the stools.
