Palm Beach Hotel
Irwin Mitchell has been contacted with reports of holidaymakers falling ill during their stay at the Palm Beach Hotel in January 2014.
One holidaymaker who was part of a group of six, advised that she started suffering from symptoms including diarrhoea and painful abdominal cramps on the third day of her holiday and continued to suffer on her return to the UK. The holidaymaker has subsequently been diagnosed with shigella, which is a disease commonly contracted through consuming contaminated food and water; the holidaymaker reported that the bottled water she purchased at the hotel was not always sealed. Whilst the exact cause of the holidaymaker’s illness is not yet known, Irwin Mitchell is concerned to learn of the issues raised.
