Illness Reported at Hotel Taurito Princess, Gran Canaria - March 2011
Irwin Mitchell is highly concerned for all holidaymakers who intend to travel or have recently stayed at the Taurito Princess Hotel in Gran Canaria. It has been reported that sun seekers who have stayed at the hotel in March 2011 have contracted symptoms of gastric illness. Symptoms experienced by those who have unfortunately contracted the illness include profuse and relentless diarrhoea.
The cause of the illness is yet to be identified but it is believed that the symptoms may be caused by bacterial infections, possible contracted by the food consumed at the hotel or the lack of hygiene procedures practised at the resort. Reports indicate that a large number of holidaymakers are falling ill and that the holiday representatives have also been affected. Suggestions have been made that the illness has plagued the hotel for a number of weeks.
The Taurito Princess Hotel is currently graded as a four star hotel, offering over 400 rooms and two swimming pools.
We are particularly keen to hear from holidaymakers who have contracted the illness as we have received similar complaints of illness at this hotel in 2004, 2005 and 2007.
