Irwin Mitchell is eager to hear from holidaymakers who have experienced symptoms of illness following their holidays to the Lembeh Resort in Indonesia. Recent reports for September 2010 suggest that guests who have recently travelled to the resort have been struck down with symptoms of gastric illness. Holidaymakers who have returned from the hotel recently have rated the hotel poorly.
Guests have reportedly returned from the hotel suffering from symptoms of diarrhoea, stomach cramps and exhaustion. One holidaymaker suggests that his symptoms are still continuing some five weeks after the holiday. Reference is also made to Shigella which is a form of bacterial food poisoning. The report states that some holidaymakers had to leave the resort to receive medical attention.
Reports would suggest that holidaymakers have contracted gastric illness possibly due to the poor standards of food hygiene and the poor quality of food. Reports have suggested that the food was often served cold and would be re-heated. The water in and around the resort is also reported to be filthy and littered.
