ClubHotel Riu Negril, 2017

Our International Personal Injury experts are concerned to have been approached by a holidaymaker who suffered gastric illness during a holiday at the ClubHotel Riu Negril in Jamaica, during September 2017.

Our client's symptoms included diarrhoea and stomach cramps. She was subsequently diagnosed as suffering from Salmonella.

Despite some positive reviews of the resort online, our International Personal Injury team has also been made aware of guests' complaints about "cooks grabbing raw meat out of bucket with bare hands….then continuing working and touching prepared food without washing their hands". There are also complaints that the food was sitting out "for hours" and that the milk used for cereal was "warm".

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in the stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness we know the potential long term effects that it can cause, including permanent complications such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

If you have travelled to the ClubHotel Riu Negril in Jamaica and subsequently suffered from symptoms of illness, Irwin Mitchell, who specialise in dealing with cases of such nature, would like to hear from you.
