Riu Hotel Ochorios, Jamaica
We're concerned to learn about guests falling ill with gastric symptoms while on holiday at the Riu Hotel Ochorios in Jamaica in August 2016.
Our International Personal Injury team have been instructed by a holidaymaker following his stay at the hotel earlier this year to celebrate his father’s wedding. The holidaymaker started to suffer from gastric symptoms which included vomiting and stomach cramps. During his stay at the hotel, the holidaymaker also noticed that on one particular sitting he consumed raw chicken which was bloody and pink on the inside.
Jatinder Paul, an Associate Solicitor and specialist in International Personal Injury cases at Irwin Mitchell said “This was supposed to be a special holiday for this holidaymaker as he was celebrating a special occasion, however it will now be remembered for all the wrong reasons. We will now be conducting our own investigations as to the cause of our client’s illness”.
Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness, we know first-hand the potential long term conditions that can be associated with it, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
If you also travelled to the Riu Hotel Ochorios and subsequently suffered symptoms of gastric illness, we would like to hear from you. We specialise in dealing with cases of this nature and could help you claim compensation.

"We were very happy with the outcome of our case, especially as we were initially offered nothing from the Tour Operator. Irwin Mitchell were very professional throughout and we are very happy with the outcome."
