Secret St James Montague Bay Hotel, Jamaica

Our International Personal Injury team have been instructed by a couple following their stay at the Secret St James Montague Bay Hotel in Jamaica earlier this year to celebrate their honeymoon.

One holidaymaker started to suffer from gastric symptoms a few days in to their holiday which included diarrhoea and severe stomach cramps. His symptoms worsened towards the end of the holiday and he was rushed to A&E on his return home, later being diagnosed with Salmonella.

Jatinder Paul, an Associate Solicitor and specialist in International Personal Injury cases at Irwin Mitchell said “This was supposed to be a special holiday for these holidaymakers as they were celebrating their honeymoon, however it will now be remembered for all the wrong reasons. We will now be conducting our own investigations as to the cause of our client’s illness”.

Gastric symptoms can range from mild diarrhoea to abdominal cramps and blood in stools. Having significant experience in assisting those unfortunate enough to contract gastric illness, we know first-hand the potential long term conditions that can be associated with it, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

If you also travelled to the Secret St James Montague Bay Hotel in Jamaica and subsequently suffered symptoms of illness, we'd like to hear from you. We specialise in dealing with cases of this nature and could help you claim compensation.
